An interactive workshop examining what organisations might do to support societal health and wellbeing

In this BTEtalk, speaker Duncan McCombie (Yes Energy Solutions) will be taking an integrated approach to health and wellbeing and asking key questions as to how we might seek to resolve some of the key health & wellbeing challenges facing broader society such as rising fuel poverty and declining health indicators.

With an increased focus on a healthy lifestyle, involving drinking plenty of water, taking appropriate exercise and seeking advice on our physical and mental health, they ask what might be done individually and collectively to promote a more healthy lifestyle as well as to overcome some of the barriers to achieving that. In particular, they will consider what might be done within and across organisations and institutions to support broader systemic change so as to alleviate some of worst effects of fuel and health poverty.

The session will be partly made up of presentations from the speakers following by a facilitated discussion. There will then be an opportunity for audience members to contribute to the debate and discussion and to offer suggestions, solutions and challenges that must be addressed in order to engender this sort of systemic change.
